Executive Assistant to the CEO

Think fast, act smart, stay two steps ahead. BlueTech’s CEO needs a right hand who’s as quick on judgement as they are on logistics — confident, calm, and a little fearless.

At BlueTech Research, we’re looking for more than a traditional Executive Assistant. We’re looking for a right hand, a gatekeeper, and a trusted collaborator to our CEO.

This is a role for someone who thrives in fast-moving, purpose-driven environments. Someone who’s proactive, sharp, and knows how to get things done before they’re even asked. You’ll manage a complex calendar across multiple time zones, keep communications crisp and organised, and make sure everything from strategy meetings to flights runs seamlessly.

But it’s not just about logistics, it’s about judgement. You’ll be the calm in the chaos, helping Paul prioritise what matters most, maintain focus, and keep the bigger picture in view. You’ll spot opportunities, solve problems before they surface, and create space for him to lead BlueTech’s global mission to accelerate water innovation.

We’re looking for someone with confidence, warmth, and a touch of hutzpah. Someone who can hold their own in a conversation with CEOs one moment and troubleshoot a travel issue the next. If you love being the steady hand that keeps everything (and everyone) on track, this role could be your perfect fit.

What you’ll bring

You’re a sharp, composed professional who thrives in fast-moving environments and takes pride in keeping everything (and everyone) one step ahead. You bring strong judgement, clear communication, and the ability to balance urgency with tact. You’re flexible across multiple time zones, and you know how to stay calm under pressure while making things happen behind the scenes.

You’re not someone who just says yes. You know when to challenge, when to push back, and how to offer a better solution with confidence and diplomacy. You think commercially, act intuitively, and always keep the bigger picture in mind.

And above all, you’re a genuinely nice person to work with: friendly, grounded, and professional. You build positive relationships easily, treat colleagues and external partners with respect, and bring warmth and good humour to every interaction. You’re the kind of person who keeps things running smoothly while making it feel effortless and enjoyable,  for everyone around you.

Events Manager

BlueTech Research is looking for a commercially minded and highly organised Events Manager to lead the strategy and delivery of our BlueTech Forum Unplugged series and other global event activations.

This is a leadership role for someone who thrives on creating outstanding in-person experiences and knows how to build events that are as financially sound as they are impactful. Our next team member is someone who sees beyond logistics and understands the power of convening, conversation and community.

About BlueTech Research

BlueTech Research is a global intelligence partner to the world’s leading water innovators. We provide insight, data, and strategic foresight to Fortune 500 companies, investors, utilities, and technology pioneers driving sustainable water solutions.

Our BlueTech Forum Unplugged series is the next evolution of our flagship event — intimate, high-impact gatherings that have taken place in places like Kew Gardens in London and the Vancouver Convention Centre. Each edition connects the brightest minds in water, innovation, and sustainability — from Nike and Apple to research institutions and technology start-ups — to exchange ideas that accelerate real change.

These aren’t conferences. They’re tastemaker events.

Spaces where conversations start, collaborations spark, and ideas spread — linked closely with our storytelling through Brave Blue World and Our Blue World.

What you’ll do

You’ll lead the entire lifecycle of multiple global events — from strategy to execution — ensuring each gathering reflects BlueTech’s standard of thought leadership while meeting commercial and operational goals.

This role combines business acumen, relationship-building, and flawless execution. You’ll have full P&L responsibility for the Unplugged series and will be expected to manage budgets, build partnerships, and deliver events that are both meaningful and financially sustainable.

Responsibilities

  • In-person BlueTech events

    • Lead end-to-end planning and delivery of BlueTech Forum Unplugged events worldwide.
    • Develop event concepts, agendas, and themes that reflect our research and thought leadership.
    • Manage the event P&L: budgets, cost control, sponsorship revenue, and ROI tracking.
    • Build relationships with sponsors, partners, and delegates to ensure long-term engagement.
    • Oversee venues, vendors, AV, and logistics to deliver seamless, high-quality experiences.

  • In-person partner events

    (Conferences and special activations)
    • Coordinate BlueTech’s participation at key industry conferences such as WEFTEC and AquaTech, including exhibition management, speaking engagements, and networking activities.
    • Support and manage special film screenings (e.g., Our Blue World and Brave Blue World) featuring BlueTech speakers or moderated panels.
    • Liaise with partners, sponsors, and event organisers to ensure BlueTech’s brand and team presence are consistent, professional, and impactful.
    • Handle onsite logistics, schedules, and travel arrangements for BlueTech team members and speakers.

  • Virtual events

    (Virtual Roundtables, webinars, and briefings)
    • Plan, schedule, and deliver Virtual Roundtables and webinars — from topic development and speaker coordination to invitations and post-event reporting.
    • Oversee event platforms and technical delivery (e.g., Zoom Webinar, Teams).
    • Manage registration, communications, and participant follow-up.
    • Collaborate with marketing and research teams to align topics and audience targeting.
    • Track attendance, feedback, and engagement metrics to refine future sessions.

What you’ll bring

  • Proven experience in end-to-end event management

    - Including commercial elements
    - Ideally B2B or professional/technical sectors

  • A strong track record in budget ownership/P&L and sponsorship revenue

  • Excellent programme design, stakeholder management, and vendor coordination skills

  • Pragmatic, outcomes-driven approach; calm under pressure and strong on follow-through

  • Fluent English (spoken and written); comfortable working with senior executives

  • Familiarity with international logistics and operating in remote, distributed teams

  • Bonus points:

Familiarity with the water sector, cleantech, or sustainability space

You’ll thrive in this role if…

  • You treat events as strategic platforms for community and thought leadership, not just schedules

  • You’re equally at home cultivating sponsors and running a tight show

  • You take clear ownership—commercially and operationally—and deliver

  • You enjoy turning ambitious ideas into well-run, high-impact experiences
