Technology Offering

DyVaR ZLD

What is it?

Salttech’s DyVaR process is a modular, patent-pending desalination technology that achieves thermal distillation through Dynamic Vapor Recompression (DVR). DVR is a variation on Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR), a process by which water is evaporated at moderate temperatures due to an applied vacuum and then condensed in a chamber with higher pressure. A heat exchanger transmits the heat of condensation to the influent stream and as a result, the process requires less energy than simple flash distillation. The “dynamic” variation in a DVR system is the use of a cyclone during the evaporation step, which allows for crystallized salts to be separated from the brine by centrifugal force. The DyVaR system operates without pre-treatment and can be fully automated and remotely operated.
