FEDI

What is it?

FEDI (Fractional Electrodeionization) is an advancement of the EDI technology. Instead of applying one current to the entire module as in conventional EDI, the FEDI® process differentiates the removal of weakly ionized and strongly ionized impurities by applying different voltages in a two stage process. In Stage-1 a low voltage is applied for removing the strongly ionized impurities, mainly the divalent ions which can cause scaling at a higher voltage. In Stage-2, a higher voltage is applied for removing weakly ionized impurities.
