The EWS technology utilizes an electro-coagulation process to destabilize emulsions and kill bacteria and a gas floatation process to separate out oils and solids in the produced water. The technology was originally called Solids Out of Solution™ (SOS) and was developed for algae harvesting to produce biofuels. This application continues to form a part of OriginOil’s business, where the technology uses electromagnetic waves to lyse and flocculate algae cells that are in suspension, which were then concentrated for algal oil extraction.Website
