Technology Offering

CWFS /AD

What is it?

The CWFS /AD technology is a centrifugal technology coupled with an anaerobic digester that can be used in place of primary clarification, activated sludge treatment, secondary clarification and ballasted flocculation. Grit and inorganic content in the wastewater is removed through settling and screening before the centrifuge. The centrifugal force separates the water from the organic solids. Before discharge, the centrate will require further treatment (e.g. granular media or UV). Grit and other inorganic waste captured in the initial screening are sent to landfills while the organic content resulted from centrifugation is used in the anaerobic digester for methane production. The producer claims that the technology can be used for methane recovery from anaerobic digestion.
