EssDe ProcessWhat is it?
The EssDe Process stands for Energy Self Sufficient by DEMON. Cyklar claim the process, which is based on a combination of the DEMON process with the A/B-process can be used to make a wastewater treatment process net-energy-zero. In the A/B process, the majority of the carbon is adsorbed in the primary settlement step and used for methanogenic digestion (biogas production). In the activated sludge (B-Step), a carbon source would become the limiting factor for nitrification-denitrification, which is overcome by implementing the DEMON process in the activated sludge and on the sidestream from sludge dewatering. Cyklar claim that the higher biogas production rates and reduced aeration requirements can make a treatment plant net-energy-zero.Website
