Technology Offering

WaterMiner Platform

What is it?

WaterMiner platform includes several key components, namely a WaterMiner, a clarifier and an OxiMiner. WaterMiner is a fully automated, continuous flow electrochemical system for the pre-treatment of complex industrial wastewaters. It has a dual zone design that combines electrocoagulation and electrooxidation in a single electro cell. In the presence of a sacrificial primary anode, a secondary dimensionally stable anode (DSA) and an active cathode, a low voltage (5-10 V) DC current is applied to produce a metal-based coagulant to attract and precipitate suspended particles, colloidal matter, and dissolved contaminants. The system automatically monitors and constantly adjusts the cathode position to maintain an optimal distance between the primary sacrificial anode and the cathode throughout the life of the anode, optimizing the energy requirements and the anode consumption, reducing metal wastage. OxiMiner, a stand-alone multi-zone oxidation reactor, is installed as part of the WaterMiner Platform after clarification as a polishing step to further reduce COD, target dissolved organics, odor and provide tertiary disinfection. The Platform is offered in various containerized, skid mounted solutions, designed to treat flows up to 500 m3/day (130,000 gpd).
