Down-flow Anaerobic Carrier (DACS) media and systemsWhat is it?
The DACS (Down-flow Anaerobic Carrier) technology consists of floating 12x12 mm plastic media that have an open structure and serve as biomass carriers. The media floats on the surface of the wastewater within a conventional tank or structure. Wastewater is distributed from the top and flows down through the media to the bottom of the tank where it is discharged. Biogas is collected at the top of the tank. The technology is part of three offerings from Aqana: DACS, DACS DANA and the DACS-RETROFIT.Website
