AWR Process

What is it?

The AWR process is a desalination process that utilizes a water miscible solvent to modify the solubility of salts, resulting in super saturation and crystallization of dissolved salts at ambient temperatures. The selective precipitation produces sellable byproducts including sodium chloride, sodium carbonate, and tricalcium phosphate. The water miscible solvent can be recovered using membrane separation.
